Hard Quiz launched as a new Australian quiz format with a sharp sense of humour and a competitive edge. The brief was to create a theme that immediately established tone, confident, slightly mischievous and unmistakably bold within a primetime broadcast schedule.

ON THE SLY composed and produced the main title theme and created the full suite of gameplay audio for the programme. Working closely with the production team, we developed a musical identity that introduced the show within seconds and carried through every round.

Beyond the opening titles, the score extended across question beds, stings, transitions and key reveal moments. Built around punchy brass, driving rhythm and a clear melodic hook, the music reinforces both the humour and competitive tension of the format.

Designed for longevity from the outset, the soundtrack underpins the programme’s identity and consistency across episodes.
