ON THE SLY created the original musical score and sound design for a festive drone light show soundtrack, produced by Dronisos, bringing a magical Christmas story to life in the skies.

The show combined aerial animation and narration to tell an enchanting holiday tale centred around a group of characters on a winter adventure. Our role was to create a cinematic orchestral drone show soundtrack that could carry the narrative while responding closely to the rhythm and personality of the animated scenes.

Working with our arranger, we developed a bespoke orchestral score designed to capture the wonder and drama of the story without becoming overly sentimental. The music moves through different moods and moments — from sweeping orchestral passages that underscore the spectacle in the sky to smaller, more intimate musical textures as the story unfolds.

To help bring the characters to life, we also cast voice talent to narrate the story, giving the show the feeling of a festive tale being read to a child at bedtime. The narration interacts with the music and sound design to guide audiences through each chapter of the adventure.

The resulting experience blended storytelling, music and drone choreography into a seasonal spectacle performed during the Christmas period in both Orlando, USA and locations in southern France.
