ON THE SLY worked with Coldplay’s management team to develop the music for a pre-show kinetic dancefloor experience, rolled out across dates on the band’s world tour.
The installation formed part of the tour’s wider sustainability programme, which explored new ways for audiences to actively contribute energy to the show. Special kinetic floor tiles converted the movement of dancing fans into electricity that helped power elements of the live production.
Our role was to create the music environment that would inspire people to move. The soundtrack needed to be immediate, infectious and rhythm-driven, encouraging fans to step onto the floor and start dancing so the system could generate energy before the show began.
We curated and reworked a wide range of dance, hip hop and pop tracks, combining mashups, remixing and sound design to create continuous high-energy sets tailored for large mixed crowds and different tour locations.
The installation became a participatory pre-show fan experience connecting music, movement and sustainability, helping build atmosphere ahead of the concert while placing the audience at the centre of the moment.
