In 2023, SKYMAGIC invited ON THE SLY to create the musical score for a large-scale drone show at Coachella, one of the world’s most influential music festivals.

The aerial performance unfolded above the main stage across both weekends of the festival, using around 500 drones to animate iconic artworks from Coachella’s history before opening a visual portal into the world of BLACKPINK, introducing the global headliners to the stage.

ON THE SLY composed an original electronic score for the show, designed to match the energy of the festival environment while supporting the evolving drone choreography. Music, transitions and sound design were structured to build momentum across the sequence as the visuals moved towards the headline reveal.

Working in close collaboration with SKYMAGIC, the score and drone formations were developed together so that musical shifts aligned with the aerial storytelling, creating a single moment of spectacle for the Coachella audience.
